Cholesterol is an essential fat and all the fat contained in our body may not lead to health issues. Cholesterol is mainly of two types. low-density lipoprotein (LDL) or “Bad” Cholesterol, and high-density lipoprotein (HDL) or “good” cholesterol.

As the name suggests, bad cholesterol is harmful to your health. It produces most of your body’s cholesterol. Too much LDL cholesterol in the blood can lead to cardiovascular disease, including heart attack and stroke. On the other hand, Good cholesterol (HDL) works as a savior and it helps to remove other forms of cholesterol from your bloodstream.

Benefits Of Good Cholesterol

If a person has higher levels of HDL cholesterol, he might have a lower risk of heart disease. Because HDL gathers excess cholesterol in your blood and repeals it to your liver where it’s broken down. It helps to remove unwanted fat from your body to some extent.

If low-density lipoprotein cholesterol increases, it may cause a heart attack or stroke. Because having high-level HDL cholesterol leads to a better life for a person.
