Teens, Privacy, and Online Social Networks -
are teens revealing too much online?
A new Pew Internet and American Life Project study, Teens, Privacy, and Online Social Networks examines how teens protect their privacy in this age of online social networking. Two-thirds of teens with online profiles restrict access in some way, most by not including their last names or cell phone numbers. However, 79% include a picture of themselves, mostly girls and half identify their schools. According to the study, two-thirds of the teens believed that a motivated person could identify them with the information provided online.
