On the Jane Pauley show, this Thursday, May 19 on NBC- join Dr. David Walsh, President and Founder of the National Institute on Media and the Family and child development expert as he illuminates the dark realities for 1 in 8 children who play video games - video addiction.

Addiction to video games is one of the tragic consequences from unchecked media consumption by our kids. Dr. Walsh expands our national dialogue on this topic as he talks with three young people who have serious video game addictions. One young man, Caesar, could only recently stop playing games after his addiction led to the loss of his second job, the complete and negative change of his personality and a life he didn't recognize as his own.

This little discussed phenomenon of video game addiction is a children's health epidemic and only one of the negative impacts from excessive and unchecked media. Join forces with the National Institute and Dr. Walsh as we bring this issue and others like violence, illiteracy, obesity … into national focus. The Institute's nationwide program, MediaWise® supports families and communities as they seek to create healthy media habits for their children. When you watch what your kids watch - things change.
