New
book sheds light on effects of
video game violence
Think
video games dont effect kids?
Three new studies say they do. Dr.
Douglas Gentile, the National Institute
on Media and the Familys Director
of Research, shares the results of
these studies in a new book entitled
Violent Video Game Effects on Children
and Adolescents.
The book, coauthored with two other
psychologists, provides more evidence
that violent video games adversely
effect the behavior of young people.
Even Dr. Douglas Gentile was startled
to see behavior change so quickly
in one study. "Children's aggression
in school did increase with greater
exposure to violent video games, and
this effect was big enough to be noticed
by their teachers and peers within
five months." Read
