New book sheds light on effects of
video game violence
Think video games don’t effect kids? Three new studies say they do. Dr. Douglas Gentile, the National Institute on Media and the Family’s Director of Research, shares the results of these studies in a new book entitled Violent Video Game Effects on Children and Adolescents.

The book, coauthored with two other psychologists, provides more evidence that violent video games adversely effect the behavior of young people. Even Dr. Douglas Gentile was startled to see behavior change so quickly in one study. "Children's aggression in school did increase with greater exposure to violent video games, and this effect was big enough to be noticed by their teachers and peers within five months." Read more…
