Child
Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) Orginization
A growing network of MediaWise
champions.
Since 2004, the Institute has partnered with nearly
one hundred early childcare centers, licensed family
childcare homes and Family, Friend and Neighbor Caregivers
to bring information and resources about the powerful
impact of media on childrens health and development
directly to caregivers. The Institute believes that
this work is a necessary and critical component to building
high quality early childcare programs and helping children
succeed in school. As a result of the Institutes
work, more kids watch less television, read more, spend
more time with their parents, and watch age-appropriate
content.
The National Institute on Media and the Familys
hallmark is its talent and expertise to translate
scientific, and market information about media trends
into understandable implications and realistic tools
for parents to use with their children at home, in schools
and communities. Our vision is to have these resources
available to all early child care centers across the
country.
