The Institute strives to bring MediaWise information
to all kids and families. This is why the Institute
partnered with Fraser Community Services, a multi-faceted
human service organization providing direct services,
information and support in the areas of education, housing
and health care. Fraser serves thousands of Minnesota's
most vulnerable citizens each year, including children
with physical and cognitive disabilities, children at
risk for abuse and neglect, and children with autism.
The Institute worked with Fraser to bring MediaWise
materials and training to parents of children with special
needs. In addition to providing MediaWise training and
resources to professionals and families, the partnership
supported a series of focus groups dedicated to gathering
feedback on how the MediaWise Early Childhood program
can better serve families with children with special
needs.
