Target audience: professionals who work with
families in early care and education, health care,
community and social service settings
Description of training: The MediaWise program
provides training and resources to early childhood
providers and family service professionals who in
turn educate parents about the power and impact of
media (including video games, the Internet and television)
in shaping norms, attitudes and behaviors.
At this training, you will receive:
Up-to-date research and information about the impact
of media on brain development, childhood obesity,
school readiness, school performance, bullying, youth
violence, and other child health and development issues
The newly-revised MediaWise training kit, specially
tailored for Early Childhood
Training to prepare you to present these materials
to other professionals and to families
Date & time: Tuesday, October 2, 2007,
9:00-4:15 (check-in begins at 8:30)

We have priced this training in order to make it affordable
for professionals all over the state of Minnesota.
As an additional incentive for those in our target
counties of St Louis, Olmsted and Stearns, we are
offering a small fuel stipend. You will be required
to show documentation (such as a business card) that
you live or work in one of these counties and to complete
and turn in a reimbursement form on October 2. We
strongly encourage carpooling and will, of course,
only provide this stipend to one person in each car.
